Adams and Aizawa are right that this move is fallacious, regardless of how many or few authors make it. However, one suspects that most of the authors Adams and Aizawa consider are clever enough not to commit a simple fallacy like this, and hence that Adams and Aizawa might be so busy fighting straw men that they will overlook the stronger arguments that these theorists can and do make.
